Should kids be punished as adults?

In some states, they have allowed that kids should be trialed as adults depending on the crime they have committed such as murder, rape, and armed robbery. In one incident that happened in New Mexico at a Donald Trump rally, a 14-year-old boy throws a rock at a police officer, therefore he was arrested when they went into court they where trying to charge him with two felony counts of aggravated assault on a peace officer, but his defense attorney says that is too much to charge a 14-year-old boy. The prosecution was trying to make him be punished just as if he was an adult.

I think that some kids should be tried as adults depending on the crime they committed, if they were able to commit such a crime at there age then they should be able to pay the consequences

  1. I believe that some kids shouldn't be trialed as adults because they don't usually understand that their actions can have punishments. They don't understand that what they were doing was wrong at the moment and I believe that it should have less of a sentence as an adult. The only way they should be tried as an adult is that if they knew what they were doing and understood the punishment that comes with it depending on the crimes and depending on their ages. In the case that you were looking at I believe that the kid should not be tried as a adult but he should get the consequences so that he learns his lesson but not tried as an adult because he most likely will not be able to handle the adult punishment.

  2. I agree that some kids shouldn't be trailed as adults. Most kids just act and do things without knowing the consequences. In this case the kid should have not been charged with 2 felony counts and charged as an adult because the kid simply just threw a rock. I don't think the kid knew the consequences he would have from throwing a rock at an officer.
