Reporter Sexually Harassed on Live TV

Alex Bozarjian
Alex Bozarjian is a reporter for WSAV News and was reporting at a 10km race in Savannah, Georgia. As she was reporting on the sideline of the run, a male participant ran up behind her and smacked her on the butt. Bozarjian and those watching the news were all shocked. Not only did this man completely objectify a reporter, he did it on live TV. Following the incident, the public was completely outraged. Another reporter, Emily Bloch, said "This is disgusting. Sending strength and solidarity your way. Now, let's get this grimy guy and warn all the women in his life." Bozarjian released a statement on twitter, "No woman should EVER have to put up with this at work or anywhere! Do better." before saying that "he took my power and I'm trying to get it back" live on CBS This Morning.

Tommy Callaway
Twitter has been known to uncover the identity of unknown people, and in this case, they found that the man who slapped Bozarjian is Tommy Callaway. Callaway is a 43 year old from Statesboro, Georgia. He's married and has a couple daughters from his wife's previous relationships. What's most shocking about Callaway's life is that he works with his Church's youth group. Callaway's attorney, Joseph Turner released a statement saying he regretted his actions and acted with no criminal intent.

This case relates to the theme of bad human behavior. As someone who works closely with a church, and especially in the youth group, you'd want to believe that Callaway would want to present a good example on live TV, because when you work with kids, you need to be a mentor for them. Slapping someone's butt on live TV doesn't reflect someone who should be a guiding figure for kids.

  1. What Tommy Callaway did was disgusting. It's infuriating to see that women still have to face sexual harassment in the workforce. For one part, it's good that it was caught on video (or on TV) because people have proof that it happened. Many times people are quick to disregard what a woman says and would rather take the men's side. I wonder if there is going to be any consequences for Tommy Callaway. If there isn't, I wouldn't be surprised, but that would be unfortunate because it sends a message to people that someone can do this and still get away with it.
