Wildfires have been devastating Australia, These fires have burned an area roughly as big as West Virginia. These fires have caused the deaths of 24 people and over half a billion animals.
Earlier in December, the smoke was causing the air quality in Australia's largest cities like Sydney and Wales to be measured 11 times higher than the "hazardous level"
What caused these fires?
Natural causes are the blame a lot of the time like lighting strikes in drought effected forest could easily spark a fire which could exponentially grow quick. In late December, in Victoria's East Gippsland region a dry lighting fire started which quickly spread 12.4 miles in around 5 hours.
Humans could also be the blame for these fires, NSW police have charged 24 people with purposely starting bushfires

Some famous/rich people donated to the fire to help out the animals and people who were injured but I wish more of them would help out since they got a lot money on them
ReplyDeleteI read that Austraila has been having a drought because of global warming, like California. This creates very dry plants that can catch fire easier if there is heat or a spark from somewhere. It's hard to see all the animals running around and not knowing where to go or what to do. It's very sad. I feel bad for all the people over there right now. I agree that everyone should help as much as they can so people who can help more should.
