Kobe

Kobe Bryant recently passed away at the age of 41 from being in a helicopter crash which also killed his daughter and several other people going to Kobe's camp. Kobe's death comes just after Lebron James currently of the Los Angeles Lakers passed Kobe for 3rd of the all-time leading score list in the NBA, Kobe's last tweet was complementing Lebron. Kobe was a tenacious competitor with iconic moments such as shooting free throws with a torn Achilles, scoring 60 points in his last game, scoring 81 points in one game (second all time), being named the league MVP, and his 5 championship titles all with the same team.

Kobe was a sure fire hall of farmer, but when he will receive that award, he will not personally be a there to accept it. Kobe despite no longer playing still regularly have an effect on the league. Kobe was a basketball philanthropist having multiple camps including the one that he was flying to with his daughter.

I am personally not a fan of Kobe being a long time Warriors fan, but if I want to shoot something into a garbage can, I say Kobe as d many others who were not necessarily even fans of basketball at all. The profound impact that Kobe has on the NBA community and even on those who don't know how to even shoot a ball, is breath taking.

  1. I agree, I was never that into basketball but of course I followed the trends. I watched as my peers shot basket, screaming, "KOBE!" as loud as they could. Many of my friends thought of him as their idol. From a far, I watched as he inspired others and made an incredible impact on the world and people who strived to be as good of a basketball player as him. His death was shocking and I can't imagine how people that really loved him are feeling, However, he will continue to make an impact on others from Heaven. Rest in Peace.

  2. I believe that the case of Kobe Bryant is an interesting one. While Kobe was a star basketball player, he had a questionable private life. In particular, when he was 25, a 19-year-old hotel worker said that he forced her to have sex with him. After the encounter, she had bruises on her neck and her blood was found on his shirt, and filed a criminal lawsuit against Bryant. This marred his career, yet it has been overlooked to a degree not afforded to show business executives. Why are some people held more accountable than professional athletes for the same crimes?

  3. Kobe was a role model to a lot of people who was trying to become pro at basketball, he inspired a lot of people. When I heard that he passed away w his daughter, along with other people on the copter, Ion really pay attention to basketball or sports but it still shocked me. I can see that his death affected people deeply because he was such an inspiration to a lot of people across the world and how he left this world was just tragic.

  4. Although growing up a Warriors fan, this news really hurt me. I think what made this such a tragedy and the reason why so many people beyond basketball fans are heartbroken is because of the children on board. Despite a few controversies at a younger age, Kobe was doing a lot of good in the world. He was an incredible father to his four children, a caring husband to his wife, and was doing so much to help expand women's basketball. But the three young teenagers who lost their lives in the crash is beyond tragic. Waking up one morning to go to their basketball game, and not making it there is heartbreaking. Rest in peace to all 9 lives lost.
