The small town of Bolinas in Northern California is attempting to test every resident for Coronavirus and its antibodies. Bolinas has a population of 2,000. The total cost of testing the entire population would be 400,000 dollars. But many wealthy Entrepreneurs liked their initiative and wanted to support their project. They managed to raise 300,000 dollars through GoFundMe. UCSF put on the study for the town of Bolinas. UCSF's mission is to get as much data as possible so that they can accurately predict the virus. With limited data sets, it is almost impossible to predict the impact of Coronavirus and how long we need to stay in a shelter in place. If other towns around the United States try to get testing for their residents we could potentially test the majority of the United States. This could allow us to make an accurate prediction and we could decide how to move forward and stop the spread of Coronavirus.

It's nice to see people taking initiative in these troubled times.
ReplyDeleteQuick result testing is the only way I see life going back to somewhat normal because it is an indicator of whether people are safe to be close to others or not. The antibody test gives results in minutes which would be very effective to use in order to allow people to return to work/school as long as they are tested not to have it.
