Opening of the beaches
All over the world some of the most public places now look like ghost towns as everyone is inside staying safe and clean. Social media influencers, celebrities, and pro athletes have all asked their followers to please stay inside as it is not safe to be outside at all. Recently, Santa Cruz, Florida, and other popular beach spots have opened up their beaches to the public. From someone who only uses the beaches as a vacation type spot it is hard to see why they would open the beaches for please purposes. Especially in places like Florida where filling the beach is common and the purpose. I think that the beaches should only be opened for residents of the location who use the beach as an everyday activity.

I don't think the beaches should be open to anyone. Luckily I heard that Santa Cruz is still very strict on whose allowed to be on the beach and if you're not following social distancing rules, they fine you. However on Florida, people have no regard for their actions. Flordia wasn't even on lockdown long enough for it to even be effective.

ReplyDeleteI agree that the beaches probably shouldn't be open, but does this really come as a surprise to anyone?
ReplyDeleteI think that the real issue with opening up the beaches is that people would flock to the beaches from other areas. This is also why many parks and outdoor areas are shut down. If there was a way to limit the crowds then the opening the beaches would not be a bad idea.
