Recently, Huntington Beach in California received a shocking 200 protesters who were fighting against the stay-at-home orders in California to prevent further spread of the coronavirus pandemic. These protesters united under the "March for Freedom" event to spread their word and make a statement during this horrific time. With signs stating "Quarantine the sick, not the healthy!", these protesters portrayed their uneducated views of what was taking place. Such an action to quarantine the sick would not be possible, as many spread the virus without being aware they are sick. Their intentions to seek the California economy may have seemed beneficial in their eyes, though the long term effects of such actions would be dangerous and damaging to the economy and human race.
Their actions of uniting and spreading their views only resulted in further spread of the coronavirus. With only one potential infected citizen in the party of 200, these 200 citizens could have experienced interaction with an infected individual and continued the spread of this deadly virus. Although many may be strongly influenced by their emotions and feel trapped in their homes with frustration, we must know that this quarantine is the best option to decrease the risk of putting our own and other lives in danger.

Every state who has put the stay-at-home order in place has been seeing results. New York which is the hot bed of the virus in the US, has seen a decrease in their deaths and hospitalizations since the order was put in place. Since we have gone this far, it seems ridiculous to throw it all away by reopening the nation and putting everyone back at risk.
ReplyDeleteI agree. By breaking the ban at this point that could put us back to square one of quarantining and make this take even longer.
ReplyDeleteThe stay at home order only works if everyone participates. If citizens choose not to listen it will only increase the amount of people who will die and it will increase the time that we are stuck in quarantine.
ReplyDeleteI agree. If everyone stays home they can finally stop the spread or prevent from the corona spreading and then sooner or later we will have our normal lives back.
