However, many serial killers act on cannibalism. For instance, a guy named Jeffrey Dahmer was arrested for the killing and eating of 17 males. Dahmer lured these men to his house by promising money or sex, before strangling them to death. After they were dead, he engaged in sex acts with their bodys and kept body parts and photos as souvenirs. With the last 13 bodies, he began to keep their body parts in the fridge and would eat at their flesh. After getting arrested multiple times, he was finally sentenced to 16 consecutive life terms in prison.
In addition, there was evidence that Valle had thought about kidnapping and killing women, but he claims that it was a fantasy. There was no further evidence that he went through with what he said he was going to do. This follwed his first amendment, free speech, because he has the right to think and say what he wants, as long as it isn't affecting others. I do believe that he deserved some kind of punishment, which he got, because he still engaged in these websites and had the conspiracy of kidnapping. On the other hand, not only did Dahmer have these disgusting thoughts, but he also acted on them. Doctors claim that he was "sane" and knew what he was doing when he murdered these men. This went on for 13 years, so he definitley got the punishment that he deserved. Especially after getting away with smaller crimes that he performed earlier in his life. He went further than his first amendment, by harming other innocent people. I also believe he deserved to die because he harmed so many people in his lifetime and after his 16 years in prison, he was probably going to go out and murder more people.

I think this is a very interesting take. If Valle was in fact acting on fantasy I think his novel so to speak could have definitely been inspired by Dahmer. Dahmer's crimes have bee sensationalized and are not hard to learn about. He is arguably one of the inspiration's for serial killer Hannibal Lecter from the popular novel silence of the lambs. A lot of crime is influenced by other crime so I think it is likely valle was influenced by both of these things.
ReplyDeleteThere was anther guy that was doing the same think which I forgot his name but when he was done with being accused and going to court this name began to write horror stories and that was how he began to occupy himself with that instead of going online. I believe that the guys name was Gilberto and he was a former cop. Also, I believe that instead of these people being punished they should be treated because if they didn't really commit a crime, like you have stated above they have the freedom of speech as long as they are actually not doing these stuff these people have an illness they are not crimes so they shouldn't be treated as some they should get help instead of punishment in my opinion.
