A hiker and their dog came across the head of the victim at an intersection inside the park. Once the authorities arrived at the park, they found the rest of the body. The victim was identified as a Hispanic male in his 40s or 50s. The interesting thing about this situation was that officers concluded that the victim had been dead for two or three days by the time he was found. Also, the head was discovered in one location, while the rest of the body was found in another location. When I first read this I was shocked to imagine that someone could brutally murder someone like this. The LAPD told news stations that the victim is suspected to be a homeless man due to an encampment that was found not far from the location. Officers believe that he could have been killed by animals or died of natural causes and was later dismembered by wildlife. I think it is wild that animals could have been the cause of this homeless man's life. Though there haven't been any conclusions on this case, law enforcement is still investigating all possibilities in the case.
I agree that it is a bit absurd to believe that an animal was killed this man this brutally. I feel like this is another case that shows the lack of investigation through the LAPD.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how detectives conducted the investigation on this case or how they reached their conclusions, but by the way it sounds it seems like they were quick to resolve it. It surprises me how this homeless man was dead for 2 or 3 days before he was found. It makes me wonder if not enough attention was placed on his death because he was homeless. I think that we need to take better care of homeless people because them dying is not uncommon.
