Vice President Mike Pence

A Staff member in Vice President Mike Pence's office has been tested positive for coronavirus, a Spokesperson for Pence announced Friday evening, making that the first White House staffer known to have the virus. "This evening we were notified that a member of the office of the Vice President tested positive for the Corponaviurs," Katie Miller, Pence's press secretary, said in a statement. "Neither President Trump or Vice President Pence had close contacted with the individual." Pence's office did not identify the individual or provide other information about the person or the job they hold. The outbreak has seen others in politics diagnosed with coronavirus: Rep. Mario Diaz-Belart, R-Fla, on Wednesday became the first member of Congress to announce that he was infected. Not long after Dia-Belart's announcement, Rep. Ben Mcadams, D-Utah, announced that he, too, had tested positive. A week ago, Trump took a coronavirus test, After exposure to infected individuals, but said it came back negative.

  1. The spread of this virus has proven to be unfortunately rapid and as more people get tested, more and more cases have become known.

  2. From the start Trump has not taken this virus seriously I do believe that he knew about the virus before it even got big but he ignored it because obviously he did think nothing of it. Now that the virus can not be controlled it still seems like he is doing nothing. A lot of people are being affect by this virus and there are many that are dying and yet there isn't a cure. It's crazy how Mike Pence has staff members that have tested positive and luckily him and his wife Karen Pence have tested negative. It's crazy how all of this happened so fast and how one of our family members can be affected by it without us imaging it. Given this I hope they can find a cure because I hate being indoors doing nothing. Something has to be done as soon as possible because I can not be doing online school it doesn't allow me to learn how I would at school.
