Boris Johnson
U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson initially made the decision for the U.K. to allow mass gatherings and schools to stay open. He downplayed the virus, and numerously compared it to the flu. However, things took a turn from there. On March 27th, he confirmed that he tested positive for the Coronavirus. At the time, Boris said he had "mild symptoms" and that he would continue to live his normal life, but would work from home. Since then, his symptoms have severely worsened, and he is currently in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) requiring oxygen. This goes to show that we should all be taking this seriously, but I hope that Boris can make a full recovery.

I agree with you Kunal. Politicians need to put aside their own agenda's and politics and actually attack this problem from a humanitarian perspective rather than political. Early today it was made clear that our president knew the dangers of this virus back in November and December when it was part of his daily briefing but did nothing to help prevent its spread within the United States.
ReplyDeleteThis was a very interesting post and now that Prime Minister Boris Johnson is out of the ICU and is recovering, I hope he remembers his experience and takes a more serious and aggressive approach to the virus.
