Zoom

As we are all in quarantine, many different companies have had to make major cuts, while others have continued to grow. Zoom, an online video and audio chat platform, has made it possible for schools to utilize their platform and give their students an education during this time. Not only Zoom, but all videoconferencing companies stock prices has doubled since the start of the Corona outbreak. It was a quick transition that everyone had to make when shelter in place was enacted, but Zoom made it possible for companies and schools to make that transition easily. 1. It's definitely interesting to see some companies surge during this time. Even grocery stores are thriving in terms of sales during this time. I think it'll be very interesting but sad to see how many small businesses make it out of this time. Lots of small restaurants, small shops, and small businesses in general will be still having to pay rent and in some cases employees, but their revenue can be 0 or close to 0.

  2. I think as people continue to use Zoom, they will realize that its use can be applied to life when we aren't stuck at home. For example, I believe that many people will start working from home after this is all over as they will be able to have their meetings via Zoom and not have a need to be physically present in their office.

  3. This is something that should not be surprising, but I think is to some people and I agree with Trip with that the longer we stay inside and use Zoom to communicate with their co-workers then they will start to see that maybe they won't actually ever have to go in an office building ever again. I don't know if that is a good thing however. I feel like we still need that human interaction and seeing people face to face. Otherwise we might be going in the wrong direction.

  4. I believe that once the stay-at-home order is over, there will probably be more flexibility about employees working at home. However, I think that most people will want to return to working in the office after being forced to stay in their homes for extended periods of time.
