The first most impactful moment in the Inheritance Documentary was when Monika reached out to meet Helen. She apologized and acknowledged the victim, Helen and the other Jews, who were wronged even when she wasn’t involved. She was still a child and had no control of what was going on around her and to feel guilty for something that she didn’t do but is still connected to the person who did is an honorable person. Another most revelatory moment was when Monika needed the truth about her father to fill in the missing “pieces” and casualty took action by getting into contact with Helen. They both showed true courage to go mentally back to the past and take notice of all the pain that was caused during that time. Helen didn’t have to meet, but she still went and brought her daughter along and this also goes along with Monika’s situation. She didn’t have to, but she decided to go through with it which helped them both get closure. Them meeting gave them the opportunity to catch up which led Helen to forgive her, but it also helped Monika because it helped her forgive herself for something she felt responsible for. She was connected back to her father’s wrong doings, but felt relief after she got to meet Helen. Forgiveness helps lead someone to the right direction to close that chapter of their life they were struggling with. What were your thoughts on this? What are the most impactful moments in the Documentary?
