Rather than seeking to make sure our nation is prioritizing the health of our citizens and remaining quarantined in order to minimize the potential of an increase in any further spread of the coronavirus, Trump is insisting on getting the country open. As he opposes the advice of health experts who propose for everyone to remain inside their households, Trump does not seem interested in providing such an order throughout the nation.
Instead of providing instruction on what needs to be done in order to decrease the spread of this deadly disease, Trump continues to focus on nonessential topics such as starting up professional sports leagues in order to have fans in the arenas once again. While Trump is incapable of guiding our country in the right path towards recovery, in New York, Governor Andrew Cuomo states this pandemic is expected to reach its peak in the next four to eight days.
With the number of US cases present being greater than double the amount of cases in Spain, the second highest country in cases with 124,000 confirmed cases, we are in need of action that would benefit our nation instead of harming our nation when speaking of COVID-19. We do not need a greater number of workers who will unintentionally contribute to the spread of this disease, but a period of time where the entire nation is required to remain in the household.
I agree, I think a dedicated, nationwide quarantine is what we need to contain this virus and start to flatten the curve and that while experts should plan for restarting the economy at the end of quarantine, they should focus on the economy more after the problem of the virus is taken care of.
