LA Riots: beating the wrong people

Image result for Reginald DennyReginald Denny, a white construction truck driverwas beaten nearly to death by a group of black men.

The riots had a very bad outcome when they started. The people who would be driving on the streets got the worst of it. cars would be beaten up on the roads, people would throw rocks, smash Windows, and even pull people out and beat them up for no reason.

A man who was driving by in a truck was stopped and pulled out of his truck. Then people started to beat him up for nothing. after the attack, he was blinded in his own blood, trying to grab anything to help him up off the ground. The people who were angry with the court case are attacking people who did nothing, who did not want to be invaded in this madness. Yet the riots lost sight on what they were angry about. People started to steal, people would be beaten up near death, and fires would fill the sky.

The riots were never about hurting other people, or stealing. They were not about destroying stores, and cars. Not about destroying peoples dreams and hard work. These riots were about cops getting Scot free for a bad crime they have committed. If people are going to riot, then riot on the police, not on people who are just passing by.

  1. I agree that violence towards others during riots is not the best way to go in getting justice but the violence against others in the Los Angeles riots were because of the pent up anger of the African American community. Their reaction to the Rodney King outcome was justified in terms of how they had been treated in the past by the police force. This was not the only incident where a black man was beaten up for nothing nor was it the last. They did riot on the police but rioting on the police would've caused more anger because the police pulled out of the area and were not doing anything to help others. Even when the police decided to help stop the riots, they treated blacks just like they had before and were not there to help protect them from each other, rather prove that they were criminals and dangerous to society.

  3. I agree that the people should riot against the police not their own people and breaking into store and smashing cars.

  4. I agree that this is wrong. I think any violence is bad especially against those not involved in the situation. However I see how with such raw emotions people were blind to their own actions in a way. They could not step back and realize what they were doing because they were acting on pure feeling.

  5. I agree with this but why do you think they did this to their own people ? It shouldn't even matter what race they were they should have not done this to anyone it wasn't right and fair towards people that just wanted to get through. I understand that people were frustrated and made and they were also stealing in the store but that didn't give them the right to hurt others that had never done nothing to them they were taking this very violently. I think it could have been handled better and the cops should have been involved more because if I remember correctly they weren't even aware this was going on.
