So basically the bad thing about taking off your muffler is that you won’t pass a smog check so you are going to need to buy a new muffler. A cold air intake is basically the better your car breathes the better it runs. A cold air intake not only frees up the airflow to your engine, but it also feeds it cooler, denser air. (Getting this intake might also not let you pass smog).
